Slipstream Design was privileged to be invited to present our progress in getting ASTRO ready for space communications at the event hosted by the UK Space Agency last week.

We’re excited to share how we’re adapting ASTRO, our wideband adaptive radio unit, for use in space. Originally designed for fast, secure communication on the ground, ASTRO is now being developed for satellite communications.

The Slipstream Engineering Design Team has completed the testing of ASTRO, a compact wideband reconfigurable radio platform, integrated with Radio Design’s reconfigurable filter technology, marking a new milestone in developing UK homegrown 5G technology.

Working on smaller scale radar developments since its inception, the BAE Systems project has been Slipstream Design's most technically complex development, facilitating a step change in its radar capabilities.
